The Dec 4th Financial Times has a half page article “CIOs face standoff as digital rivals ride into town.” The article makes the point that either CIOs recognize that the “I” in CIO stands for innovation (aligned with their company’s business) or someone else will and take the most fun part of their job away from them. So? What else is new?
We keep hearing about our college educated youth who can’t find jobs with meaningful career paths. Yet, we hear we need to increase the number of hi-tech visas. Do we have an educational problem? an economic problem? What do you think? I think we might, by increasing the visas, be attacking the wrong issue.
